Description
The sudden death of her father leaves a teenage girl without a family and she becomes lost in her own anger and sadness. Her family doctor (Daryl Hannah) informs her that her father had a secret, that the mother (Claire Forlani) she never knew was alive and well. Although somewhat apprehensive she decides to travel to meet her, with the prospect of starting a new life but as one can imagine, not all is plain sailing.
Set amongst the backdrop of magnificent countryside and lush pastures, she befriends a horse trainer (Louis Gossett Jr) who has fallen on hard times and discovers that in caring for a special horse Secretariat, a good horse can change peoples lives and through the new friendships she forms she begins to find her way back to happiness.
